On August 31st, the 2026 Tianjin Outstanding Software Engineer pilot class officially commenced at the Tianjin Institute of Software Engineering. This year's cohort has seen an increase in both enrolled students and the number of collaborative enterprises participating, with available positions spanning cutting-edge fields like AI development, the Internet of Things, and cloud security. Students will undertake 20 weeks of project training and on-the-job internships, with their graduation projects based on real enterprise tasks and guided by a dual-mentor system from both the university and industry partners.

Upon successful completion of the training period, students who pass their assessments will sign employment agreements directly with the enterprises, effectively achieving "graduation leading straight to employment." The pilot class, led by the Tianjin Municipal Education Commission and implemented by the Tianjin Institute of Software Engineering, is designed for undergraduates from universities across the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.

With a clear employment-oriented focus, the program adopts a "made-to-order" collaborative training mechanism between universities and enterprises, ensuring a precise match between talent supply and market demand. This year, the class has refined two key modules—"Professional Competency" and "Internationalization"—on top of its existing enterprise training framework. These additions aim to systematically enhance students' communication, teamwork, and cross-cultural skills. The Professional Competency module features HR professionals from well-known companies who share workplace insights and focus on professional development, helping students transition smoothly from campus life to the corporate world. Meanwhile, the Internationalization module covers areas such as professional vocabulary, business English, innovative thinking, and company operation simulations to strengthen students' engineering, management, and creative capabilities.

A representative from the Tianjin Institute of Software Engineering stated, "We will continue to deepen partnerships with leading industry players, continuously refine our program offerings, emphasize interdisciplinary integration, and explore innovative models for cultivating technical talent across the entire software industry chain, aiming to produce more versatile engineering professionals."
