A Boeing 767-300 freighter skidded off the runway after landing at Miami International Airport on the afternoon of September 6, according to the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration. The aircraft, which had departed from Puerto Rico, veered beyond the airport boundary, struck multiple vehicles, and erupted in flames.

Video from the scene shows the large cargo jet resting at the northwest end of the airfield, unable to move, as confirmed by airport officials. In response, Miami International Airport implemented a ground stop at 3 p.m. local time, closing all runways and taxiways. Fire rescue crews from Miami-Dade County were dispatched to the site.

As of now, authorities have not released verified casualty figures, and the cause of the runway excursion remains under investigation.
