Citi (C.US) has announced three new leadership appointments within its Treasury and Trade Solutions division, naming Manish Bajaj, Shalin Shroff, and Amir Khan to senior roles. These moves are designed to sharpen the bank's strategic focus on assisting clients navigating critical global trade corridors and rapidly evolving markets worldwide.

In the newly created positions, Manish Bajaj has been appointed Head of Trade for the Japan, North Asia, and Australia (JANA) region. Meanwhile, Shalin Shroff takes on the role of Head of Trade for South Asia, and Amir Khan has been named Head of Trade for the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region.

The appointments come on the back of a strong performance in 2025, during which Citi's trade business facilitated roughly $1 trillion in financing throughput. The bank also added more than 27,000 new buyer-supplier relationships in its supply chain finance segment, expanding its global network to encompass nearly 440,000 partnerships. As one of the world's largest trade franchises, the division is committed to supporting clients' working capital needs and financing the cross-border movement of goods that underpins global commerce.

Two of the three newly appointed executives bring extensive experience from the bank's senior corporate banking leadership ranks. Adoniro Cestari, Global Head of Treasury and Trade Solutions at Citi Services, commented on the appointments, stating that Manish, Amir, and Shalin are highly respected leaders who bring deep market knowledge, strong client relationships, and considerable Citi tenure to their respective new roles. He added that their appointments better position the bank to support clients along increasingly vital trade corridors while continuing to build on its advantages in markets offering significant long-term opportunities. Cestari also highlighted that global trade is undergoing profound transformation, and clients require partners capable of helping them navigate complexity, unlock working capital, and seize new opportunities. As supply chains diversify and investment flows shift, markets across Asia, the Middle East, and Africa are playing an ever more crucial role in connecting global trade.
