Genscript Biotech (01548) surged nearly 3% at the market open, with shares last trading up 2.58% at HK$33.40, on a turnover of approximately HK$15.31 million.

According to an announcement on the company's official WeChat account, Genscript Biotech revealed on September 16 that it has entered into a collaboration with Lilly TuneLab™, the AI/machine learning drug discovery platform operated by global pharmaceutical giant Eli Lilly and Company. Under the terms of the agreement, Genscript will provide wet lab experiment services to companies participating in the Lilly TuneLab™ initiative, enabling them to rapidly generate experimental data and convert AI-driven predictions into validated biological findings, thereby accelerating the evaluation of drug candidates.

To further solidify its leadership in complementary wet lab validation services, Genscript recently completed a Hong Kong share placement raising approximately HK$2.35 billion to support growth in its AI-driven drug discovery (AIDD) business. Around 70% of the net proceeds are earmarked for expanding AIDD platform capacity and infrastructure, including the construction of automated high-throughput wet laboratories and facility upgrades.

This partnership with Lilly TuneLab™ is expected to broaden the application of Genscript's large-scale wet lab validation capabilities within AI-powered drug discovery workflows, helping biotech firms bridge the gap between computational predictions and experimental validation more efficiently.
