The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has initiated a public consultation on a draft framework for standardizing the humanoid robotics industry, as announced on the evening of August 24th. This draft, titled the "National Humanoid Robot Industry Standards System Construction Guide (2026 Edition)", outlines ambitions to establish a comprehensive and scientifically structured standards system by 2028, targeting the completion of at least 100 key standards covering areas such as capability testing, core technologies, platforms, application scenarios, and safety governance, with over 200 enterprises expected to adopt these standards to support the sector's high-quality growth.

In a parallel move on the same evening, the MIIT also released a draft guide for the brain-computer interface (BCI) industry, seeking public feedback on its "National Brain-Computer Interface Industry Standards System Construction Guide (2026 Edition)". This document proposes formulating or revising more than 40 standards in the BCI field by 2028, leading or participating in the creation of over 10 international standards, and encouraging more than 100 companies to engage in standard implementation. The broader objective is to have over 80 standards in place by 2030, establishing a foundational standards system that enhances China's global participation and industrial contribution in the BCI domain.
