On Tuesday, Shopify (SHOP.US) continued its upward momentum, climbing approximately 7% at the time of writing and extending its two-day gain to nearly 14%.

In terms of catalysts, Shopify announced a deep partnership with Meta’s personal AI assistant, Muse, which will enable AI-driven "agentic checkout" across all Shopify stores that support Shop Pay. This feature allows users to search for products, make selections, and complete payments entirely within the Muse chat interface.

This integration leverages the Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP) and the Shopify Catalog, allowing users within the Meta ecosystem to complete Shop Pay transactions without ever leaving the platform or navigating to a merchant’s website. Analysts view this as a significant step toward boosting conversion rates and reshaping the broader e-commerce and payments landscape.

According to Shopify’s Vice President of Product, Rohit Mishra, these AI agents do not face the same cognitive limitations as humans. Equipped with richer contextual data, they can locate desired products more swiftly, thereby dramatically improving transaction efficiency.
