Rubrik Introduces Autonomous Business Recovery Solution for Cloud Applications

Data security and AI operations firm Rubrik Inc. recently announced the launch of an autonomous business recovery solution for cloud applications at its Rubrik FORWARD event.

This solution is an intelligent cyber resilience tool designed to fully restore cloud applications, encompassing data, network, identity, and configuration information, ultimately rebuilding a business's minimum viable operations at machine speed.

As powerful AI models compress the window between vulnerability discovery and exploitation from months to seconds, planning for cyber resilience in advance has become critical.

Driven by Rubrik's proactive recovery engine, the solution can automatically discover applications and their dependencies, validate clean recovery points, and pre-build recovery plans before a cyberattack occurs, initiating the recovery process before the attack hits.

Rubrik's Chief Product Officer, Anneka Gupta, stated, "Recovering data is not the same as recovering business. If the application cannot run, the recovery is a failure. Modern cloud applications are a stack of code, configuration, keys, identities, and dependencies. Machine-speed attacks have made traditional all-or-nothing recovery untenable. The autonomous business recovery for cloud apps can prioritize restoring the minimum viable business from pre-validated clean points in the correct order."

According to research by Rubrik Zero Labs, as agent-based threats increase, 88% of business leaders are concerned about their ability to meet current recovery time objectives.

Traditional backup tools typically only restore individual resources one by one and cannot handle the complex dependencies that constitute modern applications.

The solution offers three core capabilities: automatic application stack mapping, providing a graphical dependency map and continuously updating the resource inventory; unified protection, allowing teams to define and apply backup policies across the entire application stack from a single interface; and automated recovery, orchestrating the recovery process from clean points validated by Rubrik's proactive recovery engine in the correct order—network layer first, followed by compute resources, and finally data—without requiring manual scripts or intervention.

Gartner predicts that by 2030, 35% of enterprises will adopt cloud application infrastructure recovery solutions to complement infrastructure-as-code disaster recovery orchestration capabilities, a significant increase from less than 5% in 2026.

The solution is currently in a private preview stage.
