Tesla Vice President Tao Lin outlined the company's strategic plan and business layout for 2026 during a recent exchange conference. When asked about the potential opening of Full Self-Driving (FSD) technology to other automakers, Tao Lin stated that Tesla has always maintained an open philosophy. Similar to how its charging network is already accessible to other brands, Tesla is willing to make FSD capabilities available to more automotive companies in the future. However, she noted that this would require collaborative development efforts. Currently, Tesla's focus remains on refining its own system, and no formal initiatives have been launched yet, but this represents a clear long-term direction.

Tao Lin expressed the belief that every vehicle should possess autonomous driving capabilities in the future. However, not every automaker has the resources to develop a complete system from scratch, which demands significant capital, large teams, and vast amounts of data. She emphasized that Tesla's world model can be efficiently adapted to different vehicles, helping accelerate the entire industry's transition into the autonomous driving era. The introduction of FSD in China could, to some extent, replicate the catalytic effect that the Shanghai Gigafactory had on the new energy vehicle industry.
