Bulletin Express
09/28

China Shineway Pharmaceutical Group Limited (“Shineway Pharmaceutical”) released its 2026 interim results, highlighting a challenging first half as national cost-containment policies and inventory destocking weighed on sales.

Financial Snapshot • Revenue fell 28.5% year on year to RMB 1.18 billion. • Gross margin narrowed to 69.9% (1H25: 72.2%) as centralised procurement further compressed pricing. • Net profit declined 23.7% to RMB 469.16 million; EPS dropped to RMB 0.62. • Selling & distribution costs were cut 51.8%, while administrative expenses decreased 15.5%; R&D outlays represented 5.7% of revenue. • The board declared a second interim dividend of RMB 0.80 per share, payable 25 September 2026, lifting year-to-date dividends to RMB 1.23 per share.

Segment Performance • Injections: Sales plunged 43.4% to RMB 319.92 million amid sharper price cuts and tighter hospital budgets; share of group turnover slipped to 27.1%. • Soft Capsules: Revenue softened 6.8% to RMB 202.69 million; flagship Wu Fu Xin Nao Qing Soft Capsule delivered a 61.9% sales jump, offset by double-digit declines in Huo Xiang Zheng Qi and Qing Kai Ling soft capsules. • Granules: Down 9.6% to RMB 246.58 million as exclusive products Huamoyan and Shu Jin Tong Luo retreated. • TCM Formula Granules: Fell 31.1% to RMB 336.10 million after Hebei’s centralised tenders trimmed average ex-factory prices by over 30%. • Prescription vs. OTC mix: Prescription drugs contributed 88.5% of sales; OTC revenue decreased 23.4% to RMB 135.37 million as post-pandemic demand normalised.

Cash & Balance Sheet • Cash and cash equivalents rose to RMB 7.54 billion. • Current ratio improved to 4.3; debt-to-equity stood at 3.7%. • Inventories fell 18.6% to RMB 562.51 million; trade receivables dropped 16.0% to RMB 840.17 million.

R&D and Pipeline • Two innovative TCMs—Sailuotong Capsule and JC Capsule—completed Phase III trials, with manufacturing applications accepted; market launch targeted for 2027. • Q-B-Q-F Condensed Pill remains in Phase III. • Three classic-prescription granules (Ling Gui Zhu Gan, Erdong Decoction, Taohong Siwu Decoction) obtained market approvals, bringing the group’s approved classic prescriptions to seven—highest nationwide.

Outlook Remarks Management flagged persistent margin pressure from broader centralised procurement and insurance budget control but continues to prioritise cost discipline, product mix optimisation and pipeline advancement to navigate sector headwinds.
