In early Tuesday trading on US markets, shares of Kinross Gold (KGC) declined slightly after the company reduced its holdings in Asante Gold Company (OTC: ASGOF) through the sale of nearly 29.9 million shares.

The sale represents approximately 4.2% of Asante Gold Company's outstanding shares, with the transaction executed at a 10% discount to the closing price.

On a non-diluted basis, Kinross Gold currently holds a 5.2% equity stake.
