BYD has initiated a large-scale spring recruitment campaign across multiple production bases in China, aiming to hire more than 4,000 industrial workers. On March 12, the company's Shenzhen-Shanwei Special Cooperation Zone sites in Ebu and Xiaomo began joint recruitment efforts, targeting over 2,200 workers for roles such as operators and technicians. Simultaneously, BYD’s Xi’an plant is seeking to fill 1,800 positions. Additional recruitment activities are planned for key production bases in Zhengzhou, Hefei, and Fuzhou.

Notably, technical roles account for more than 2,000 of the job openings, including positions such as electricians, welders, fitters, CNC operators, and forklift drivers. Monthly salaries for technical staff range from 5,000 to 10,000 yuan, with some positions offering up to 10,000 yuan per month.

The Shenzhen-Shanwei Special Cooperation Zone serves as a major production hub for BYD in southern China. The Ebu facility focuses on the R&D and manufacturing of automotive components and related supporting industries, while the Xiaomo site is dedicated to new energy vehicle assembly and core component production. According to public data, the industrial park’s four-phase project is expected to achieve an annual output value exceeding 220 billion yuan upon full operation, covering a complete industrial chain from batteries, motors, and electronic controls to vehicle manufacturing and overseas exports.

This hiring surge aligns with BYD’s rapid sales growth. In 2025, the company reported annual new energy vehicle sales of 4.6024 million units, a 7.73% year-on-year increase, securing its position as the global NEV sales leader for the fourth consecutive year. Overseas sales exceeded one million units for the first time, with products now available in 119 countries and regions, making international expansion a key growth driver.

Industry analysts suggest that the intensive recruitment reflects both BYD’s efforts to expand production capacity and its strong sales and financial performance. It also signals the continued positive development of China’s automotive industry. By scaling up its workforce and optimizing talent structure, BYD is supporting the enhancement of the NEV supply chain and contributing to the industry’s transition toward high-end and intelligent manufacturing. The company’s competitive salary packages further align with national goals of synchronizing income growth with economic development, setting an example for cultivating skilled professionals and strengthening the real economy, thereby advancing the modernization of industrial systems during the 15th Five-Year Plan period.
