10月21日，President Donald Trump在X發文稱，要求新建及大型數據中心自發電，並將剩餘電力回饋社區或電網。

他稱該做法由他「mandated」，並表示電價「可能出現大幅下降」。他寫道：「If companies want to make their Data Centers popular, pay the community, and/or individuals within the community, a ‘dividend.’」（若企業想讓數據中心受歡迎，就向社區及個人支付「股息」）。

他還說，曾「不受歡迎」的項目在「達成財務協議」後「變得非常受歡迎」，並呼籲加快建設。
