Shares of INNOGEN-B (02591) surged more than 9% during the trading session. At the time of writing, the stock was up 3.21% to HK$10.28, with a turnover of HK$34.87 million.

The catalyst for the move was the company's participation in the 17th Chinese American Diabetes Association (CADA) Annual Scientific Meeting held in New Orleans, USA. Professor Wang Qinghua, the founder, Chairman, and CEO of INNOGEN-B, was invited to attend and deliver a special academic presentation.

His report focused on the company's proprietary long-acting GLP-1 innovative drug, Insupaglutide α, sharing clinical research data and outlining the international development pipeline. It is reported that Insupaglutide α has already received approval for marketing in Mainland China and Macau, China, for the treatment of type 2 diabetes. The drug is also being developed globally for multiple additional indications, including obesity and MASH.

Key Development for Patient Access

Notably, in April of this year, INNOGEN-B's Insupaglutide α was formally included in the "Qilu Bao" online clinic specific drug list for the treatment of adult patients with type 2 diabetes. This inclusion is expected to improve patient access to the medication.

Clinical Performance Highlights

Clinical studies have demonstrated that Insupaglutide α, as a next-generation GLP-1 drug, shows good glucose-lowering efficacy in the treatment of adult type 2 diabetes. Furthermore, positive data has been observed in weight loss-related clinical studies conducted in China and Australia.
