The US dollar extended its gains on Friday after a surprisingly strong nonfarm payrolls report fueled expectations that the Federal Reserve will hike interest rates again later this month. The Bloomberg Dollar Spot Index rose as much as 0.3% following the employment data release.
In the wake of the figures, the greenback quickly expanded its advance against the Japanese yen, jumping as much as 0.6% to 156.75 before paring some of those gains to trade at 156.27.
