Yantai Port Sets New Record for Single-Vessel Wind Power Equipment Exports from Shandong Ports

A cargo vessel loaded with 10 sets of domestically produced wind power equipment, with a total volume of 84,800 cubic meters, recently set sail from the Penglai Port area of Yantai Port in Shandong Province, heading for Romania. This shipment establishes a new record for the volume of wind power equipment exported in a single vessel from a Shandong port.

To ensure the successful handling of this large-scale shipment, Yantai Port's Penglai Port Company coordinated with various port authorities, including customs, maritime affairs, border inspection, and pilotage. They meticulously managed operations such as signal light rotation, road clearance, customs declaration, and vessel entry and exit procedures.

The port optimized the connection between the dock and the storage yard, leveraging technical advantages like the three-layer hoisting of hundred-meter-long wind turbine blades. The average time from transporting a single blade to completing its handling operations was reduced to approximately 40 minutes, representing a 20% efficiency improvement compared to previous operations.

As a major breakbulk cargo base for Shandong Port and a key northern Chinese hub for offshore wind power, Yantai Port has established a regular shipping frequency to Europe, with an average of two sailings per month dedicated to wind power equipment. From January to June this year, the port's throughput of wind power equipment increased by 16.2% year-on-year.

In recent years, capitalizing on its industrial foundation in wind power equipment manufacturing, shipbuilding, and its deep-water port advantages, Yantai Port has extended its full logistics service chain for the wind power sector. It has established a one-stop service platform covering the entire product line of the wind power industry chain, including towers, blades, main units, and related components. This initiative provides a "port super-connection force" to support "Made in China" products in expanding their share of the global wind power market.
