Zhaojin Mining suspends Zhaoyuan production for safety review after accident causing three fatalities

On 13 May 2026, Zhaojin Mining Industry Company Limited reported an accident at the infrastructure-stage Jintingling mine, a wholly owned subsidiary in Zhaoyuan, Shandong. The slag-removal incident resulted in three deaths and two injuries; the injured workers are in stable condition.

The company immediately activated its emergency plan and is cooperating with an official investigation. At the request of local emergency management authorities, all operating production mines in the Zhaoyuan region have been suspended for inspection. Zhaojin Mining is currently assessing how the stoppage will affect overall group operations and will issue further updates as information becomes available.

The board expressed condolences to the victims and pledged a thorough safety review, intensified risk controls and the implementation of corrective measures to eliminate potential hazards. Shareholders and potential investors are urged to exercise caution when dealing in the company’s shares.
