On March 25, a sea-rail intermodal transport train fully loaded with XCMG's engineering machinery products, carrying 53 large containers, departed slowly from the Shuanglou Operation Area of Xuzhou Port. This marked the official inaugural run of the "XCMG Special Train" for Xuzhou's sea-rail intermodal transport service. This initiative represents a typical practice for Xuzhou City in deepening the construction of its "3+8+N" logistics hub system and establishing itself as a nationally important comprehensive transportation hub. It also provides a vivid example for the city's efforts to promote the "Waterway Xuzhou" initiative and deepen the integrated development of manufacturing and modern logistics.

The inaugural run of the "XCMG Special Train" is an innovative practice by Xugang Group to precisely serve the export needs of XCMG. The operation area moved the container loading process forward to XCMG's Global Logistics Center. After containers are loaded at the factory end, they are shipped in full trainloads via railway to Qingdao Port, changing the previous model of "direct highway transport to the seaport" to "direct railway transport to the port." This "front-loaded loading + sea-rail intermodal transport" model effectively reduces comprehensive transportation costs, cutting logistics costs by 500 yuan per container. It also improves shipping efficiency and supply chain stability, building a one-stop, seamless logistics chain from "factory to port to overseas."

Leveraging this "golden corridor" of sea-rail intermodal transport, XCMG, the "ballast stone" of Xuzhou's manufacturing sector, is accelerating its climb towards the high end of the global value chain. By seamlessly connecting the production end with the seaport, XCMG is continuously delivering "Made in Xuzhou" products to the world stage with lower logistics costs and higher delivery efficiency. Behind this lies Xuzhou's functional upgrade from a "transportation hub" to a "logistics hub," and from an "industrial base" to a "global allocation center." The deep coupling between the "number one industry" and "first-class channels" builds a sturdier pivot for the open economy.

As one of the three core logistics hubs in Xuzhou's "3+8+N" logistics hub system, the Xugang Shuanglou Operation Area combines the functions of a production-service-oriented and port-type logistics park. It actively integrates into the broader provincial and municipal efforts to promote the deep integration and development of modern service industries and advanced manufacturing. Through multi-party collaboration with Shandong Port Group, XCMG, and Xuzhou Zebang Supply Chain Management Co., Ltd., the four parties have jointly built a "port + manufacturing + platform + hub" golden logistics channel. By introducing XCMG's export equipment packing center and relying on professional services like "shift from road to water" transport and full-process agency for large equipment, they have established a logistics channel directly connecting the inland hub with coastal ports. This allows enterprises to connect globally without leaving their doorstep, providing a replicable and promotable "Xuzhou Solution" for the export of Xuzhou's manufacturing sector. Since 2025, the Shuanglou Operation Area has cumulatively saved nearly 15 million yuan in logistics costs for XCMG. Evolving from "shift from road to rail" to "sea-rail intermodal transport," and from a "logistics hub" to an "industrial engine," the Shuanglou Operation Area is using logistics connectivity to fuel industrial prosperity.
