Snap Inc. announced on Thursday that it has signed an agreement to integrate Perplexity's AI-powered search engine directly into the Snapchat app. As part of the deal, Perplexity will pay Snap $400 million in a combination of cash and equity.
The partnership will give Perplexity access to Snapchat's more than 940 million users. When these users ask questions to Snapchat's "My AI" chatbot, they will receive answers generated by Perplexity's AI engine.
The new feature will be integrated into Snapchat's interface early next year. Snap stated that it will begin recognizing revenue from this collaboration starting in 2026.
The agreement was announced alongside Snap's Q3 2025 earnings report, which showed revenue of $1.51 billion, up 10% year-over-year. Net losses narrowed to $104 million from $153 million in the same period last year. Additionally, Snap revealed that its subscription service, Snapchat+, now has over 17 million users.
