Guangzhou Baiyun Mountain Scenic Area Administration Fined 850,000 Yuan for 27 Illegal Constructions

According to the Credit China (Guangzhou) website on December 8, the Guangzhou Baiyun Mountain Scenic Area Administration was recently fined over 850,000 yuan for multiple illegal constructions. The administrative penalty was issued by the Yuexiu District People's Government Dengfeng Sub-district Office on December 5.

The penalty notice revealed that on July 29 this year, the administration initially reported partial information on illegal constructions, including explanations and measurement records. By September 4, it had fully submitted details for all 27 illegal buildings, covering their addresses, construction years, and floor areas.

Key details of the constructions include: 1. In 1978, three single-story buildings were erected at Luhu Heng Road (No. 3, 5, and 7), with areas of 10.45㎡, 46.58㎡, and 27.37㎡ respectively. 2. In 1980, a two-story (partially one-story) building was constructed at Luhu North Road (No. 17), spanning 429.73㎡. 3. In 1984, two buildings were added at Luhu Road (No. 350 and 350-1), measuring 393.09㎡ and 35.92㎡. 4. From 1985, multiple single-story buildings were built across Luhu Road (No. 11-7, 11-8, etc.), with areas ranging from 35.25㎡ to 364.83㎡. 5. In 1996, five single-story structures were completed along Jinlu Road (No. 18–22), totaling 572.95㎡. 6. Additional constructions followed in 1998–2010, all lacking proper construction planning permits.

The penalty of 858,665.8 yuan was imposed under China’s Urban and Rural Planning Law and Guangdong’s related regulations.

Baiyun Mountain, a renowned 5A-level scenic spot in Guangzhou, spans 21.8 square kilometers and is celebrated as a historic natural landmark.
