Synopsys (Nasdaq: SNPS) announced on July 15 that all required regulatory approvals for its proposed acquisition of Ansys (Nasdaq: ANSS) have been secured. The transaction is expected to close on or around July 17, 2025, pending satisfaction or waiver of remaining customary closing conditions.
This milestone follows Synopsys' January 16, 2024 announcement of its plan to acquire Ansys through a stock-and-cash transaction. The merger will combine Synopsys' leadership in semiconductor design and IP solutions with Ansys' comprehensive portfolio of simulation and analysis products, creating an integrated powerhouse in electronic design automation and system simulation technologies.
