At the southwest corner of Muxi Garden Bridge, the former clothing wholesale market Fuhai International is undergoing a transformation, becoming a new landmark for digital intelligence industry on the South Central Axis. The Municipal Development and Reform Commission recently revealed that the ongoing Dahongmen Digital Intelligence Industry Building upgrade and renovation project will be completed in the first half of next year.
The former clothing wholesale stalls will be transformed into technology industry spaces. According to the plan, Dahongmen Digital Intelligence Industry Building will focus on the South Central Axis's "technology + culture" industry positioning, introducing data-related, design-related, R&D-related, and application-related enterprises to create characteristic digital economy industry clusters such as metaverse and general artificial intelligence, forming innovative integrated new business formats of "technology + culture + experience."
Fuhai International Building was confirmed for transformation into Dahongmen Digital Intelligence Industry Building at the end of 2023, with renovation construction beginning in December 2024. The planning shows that the renovation of Dahongmen Digital Intelligence Industry Building covers a total construction area of over 90,000 square meters. "The project will achieve multi-dimensional upgrades and breakthroughs through green energy-saving renovations, enhancing surrounding supporting services, and anchoring future industry development," said a relevant official from the Municipal Development and Reform Commission. In the future, Dahongmen Digital Intelligence Industry Building will anchor future industries and focus on creating a model for integrated development of digital and physical sectors.
As the building undergoes renovation, it will also serve surrounding residents and office workers, supplementing urban functions. During the renovation, Dahongmen Digital Intelligence Industry Building will organically connect Fengtai District Government Service Center, the library, and Hesheng Plaza, stimulating overall regional vitality. It will build 380 parking spaces open to residents, helping solve surrounding parking difficulties, while simultaneously creating supporting spaces such as shared meeting rooms and public cafeterias.
