On December 18, the China Digital Entertainment Conference commenced at the Yangcheng Creative Industrial Park. During the event, Guangzhou's Tianhe District officially announced its 2026 music performance plan.

From December 26 this year to January 2026, singer G.E.M. will return to Guangzhou for a 10-concert series in Tianhe. The district plans to host 53 major concerts in 2026, featuring top-tier artists such as Jay Chou, Joker Xue, Li Ronghao, Jolin Tsai, Wang Leehom, Stefanie Sun, Nicholas Tse, and the group Teenage Team.

Tianhe District, known for its rich venue resources, will stage over 30,000 performances in 2026. The area boasts three large-scale venues—Tianhe Sports Center, Haixinsha, and Guangdong Olympic Sports Center—with a combined seating capacity exceeding 150,000. The Guangdong Olympic Sports Center, for instance, offers 80,000 seats and recently underwent upgrades for the 15th National Games.

As Guangzhou’s core zone for building an international performance hub, Tianhe hosted 33,000 commercial performances in 2024, ranking among the top nationally. Stars like Mayday, G.E.M., Angela Chang, Alan Tam, Joey Yung, Miriam Yeung, Jolin Tsai, and Jason Zhang have all held concerts here.

Beyond concerts, Tianhe features professional theaters such as Guangzhou Opera House, Guangdong Art Theater, and Red Line Art Theater, alongside live music venues like Jiang Jin Jiu and Tule, fostering a vibrant cultural ecosystem.

In 2026, over 30,000 performances—including dance dramas like *The Crested Ibis*, *The Eternal Wave*, and *The Butterfly Lovers*, Yang Liping’s *Under Siege*, *Wing Chun*, and family-friendly shows—will take place in Tianhe.

Additionally, MGM will host the Guangzhou Haixinsha Carnival from late December 2025 to March 8, 2026, featuring amusement rides, games, food, and anime displays.

Tianhe’s thriving performance industry is supported by national-level platforms like the National Music Industry Base and National Cultural Export Base, alongside talent from universities such as Jinan University and Xinghai Conservatory of Music. The district’s nightlife economy, recognized as a national nighttime cultural and tourism hub, further fuels its cultural vibrancy.

Policy initiatives like the *Three-Year Action Plan for Building a Culturally Strong District (2023–2025)* and measures to promote high-quality cultural, tourism, and sports industries continue to drive Tianhe’s dynamic performance ecosystem.

As the Greater Bay Area’s most vibrant performance hub, Tianhe is set to offer residents and visitors a high-quality cultural haven in 2026.
