On 14 July 2026, Shanxi Installation Group Co., Ltd. announced the signing of an Engineering-Procurement-Construction (EPC) general contracting agreement valued at approximately RMB1.50 billion for the 500 MW Al Kamil Phase I photovoltaic project in Oman. This marks the company’s inaugural large-scale venture in the Middle East.
The Al Kamil project, located about 230 km from Muscat International Airport and 440 km from Sohar Port, covers end-to-end EPC responsibilities, including design, manufacturing, procurement, logistics, construction, grid connection, commissioning, and 2.5 years of operation and maintenance.
Key counterparties comprise: • Power purchaser: Oman Power and Water Procurement Company SAOC (OPWP). • Developer: EDF Power Solution SA, a core subsidiary of EDF Group. • EPC general contractor: Shanxi Installation Group.
According to the board, the contract delivers three strategic benefits: 1. Entry into the Middle Eastern renewable-energy market, widening the group’s international footprint. 2. Deepened collaboration with EDF Group, advancing integration into the global new-energy value chain. 3.
