A coordinated initiative designed to stimulate consumer spending on smart home products was officially released on September 14th, following its formulation by a consortium of eight central government departments, including the Ministry of Commerce, the National Development and Reform Commission, and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

The new action plan adopts a comprehensive approach, focusing on aligning supply and demand, cultivating a diversified and integrated industry ecosystem, precisely targeting the needs of various consumer groups, and streamlining the chain of convenience services. The framework proposes seven core measures to achieve these objectives.

Key measures under the plan include expanding the availability of high-quality smart home offerings, perfecting the industry's technical and quality standards system, actively supporting consumer adoption, and advancing the development of age-friendly smart home solutions tailored for the elderly. This strategic push aims to modernize the sector and make smart living more accessible across the population.
