Hong Kong Dollar Interbank Rates Climb Across the Board; One-Month Rate Up 5.345 Basis Points to 2.68%

Hong Kong dollar interbank offered rates (HIBOR) continued their broad upward trajectory on August 20, with the one-month rate, which is closely tied to mortgage lending, rising 5.345 basis points to 2.68%. The three-month rate, a key indicator of bank funding costs, edged up 0.803 basis points to 2.94452%.

The overnight rate surged 36.869 basis points to 2.8919%, while the one-week rate climbed 21.333 basis points to 2.73113%. The two-week rate also moved higher, gaining 17.137 basis points to settle at 2.71619%. Meanwhile, the two-month rate ticked up 0.071 basis points to 2.8372%.

On the longer end of the curve, the six-month rate held steady at 3.2%, and the one-year rate remained unchanged at 3.5%, showing no movement during the session.
