Wang Lei, Deputy Secretary of the BETDA Working Committee and Director of the Management Committee, announced that the high-level autonomous driving demonstration zone has achieved comprehensive demonstration across 8 application scenarios, with nearly 1,200 autonomous vehicles accumulating over 40 million kilometers of operational mileage. Additionally, BETDA will create benchmark applications in medical health, intelligent manufacturing, and other fields.

**High-Level Autonomous Driving Demonstration Zone Achieves 8 Application Scenarios**

For citizens, BETDA's two most distinctive highlights are autonomous vehicles and humanoid robot industries. Since the Beijing High-Level Autonomous Driving Demonstration Zone landed in BETDA, technology-rich autonomous vehicles have not only taken to the streets and alleys of BETDA but also highways, with many citizens experiencing the joy of riding in autonomous vehicles.

At today's press conference, Wang Lei presented impressive figures regarding autonomous driving: the high-level autonomous driving demonstration zone has achieved comprehensive demonstration across 8 application scenarios, with nearly 1,200 autonomous vehicles accumulating over 40 million kilometers of operational mileage.

The 8 application scenarios include: Robotaxi (autonomous taxis), unmanned delivery, unmanned retail, unmanned security, trunk logistics, intelligent connected passenger buses, unmanned sanitation, and unmanned shuttle services.

Beyond experiencing autonomous buses, citizens can also enjoy futuristic robot-themed restaurants in BETDA and interact closely with various humanoid robots at the world's first embodied intelligent robot 4S store, where they can purchase their preferred robots directly.

Wang Lei introduced that BETDA's humanoid robot industry has gathered nearly 200 companies with an industrial scale exceeding 10 billion yuan. The first Humanoid Robot Half Marathon attracted significant attention. BETDA has hosted the World Robot Conference for 10 consecutive years, implemented a 10,000-robot innovation application plan, and initially formed a comprehensive robot innovation ecosystem with full-element support, full-chain layout, and full-scenario empowerment.

Furthermore, BETDA will create benchmark applications in medical health, intelligent manufacturing, and other fields, continuously building city-level engineering testing platforms to drive technological iteration through AI application innovation and help enterprises improve industrialization efficiency.

In commercial aerospace, BETDA has gathered over 170 companies with an industrial scale exceeding 30 billion yuan. The nation's first commercial aerospace common scientific research and production base, "Beijing Rocket Street," is under construction, with "Yizhuang rockets" soaring into the vast cosmos. Currently, BETDA's commercial rocket enterprise concentration reaches 75% of the national total, meaning three-quarters of the country's complete rocket development companies have settled in BETDA. The concentration of commercial internet satellite companies is also the highest nationally.

Additionally, BETDA has achieved layout in 23 future industry segments including 6G, quantum information, cell and gene therapy, synthetic biology, and fusion energy.

**BETDA GDP Grows 9.6% Annually Over Five Years**

In promoting industrial development, BETDA has shown outstanding performance. Since the "14th Five-Year Plan," BETDA's GDP has grown at an average annual rate of 9.6%, with total volume exceeding 360 billion yuan. In the first half of this year, it maintained a high growth rate of 12.3%, ranking first among national-level leading economic development zones in growth rate, contributing over 15% to the city's economic growth.

Industrial output value exceeded 600 billion yuan, accounting for 25.8% of the city's total. With 1.37% of Beijing's land area, BETDA contributes nearly 40% of industrial added value. In the first half of this year, information service industry revenue grew 23.8%, wholesale and retail sales grew 25.4%, and financial industry net income grew 31.4%.

In future industries, BETDA holds first-mover advantages. Wang Lei introduced that BETDA's AI industry has gathered over 500 companies with an industrial scale exceeding 60 billion yuan. Two national AI application pilot bases for medical health and intelligent manufacturing have been established, innovatively creating the "Digital World" AI new productive forces industrial community.

BETDA is building Beijing's largest single computing power center with planned computing power exceeding 30,000P, released a city-wide AI scenario opportunity list, and is promoting scenario empowerment across thousands of industries with high standards. BETDA is laying out core tracks including high-performance intelligent computing, software intelligence, data intelligence, and intelligent hardware.

The Network Interconnection Innovation Research Joint Laboratory has been launched, developing the nation's first super-node server. The city's first intelligent computing server "dark factory" will officially enter production by year-end, with the intelligent computing industry continuously ascending with annual increases of hundreds of billions.

**Annual Industrial Development Funding Exceeds 10 Billion Yuan**

BETDA has constructed a business-friendly service system. Since the "14th Five-Year Plan," nearly 70 policies supporting strategic emerging and future industry development have been issued, with annual industrial development funding exceeding 10 billion yuan, benefiting 33,000 entities.

Market entity totals have increased by nearly 40,000, with designated enterprises above scale increasing by over 730. Currently, there are approximately 8.3 million square meters of specialized industrial parks, creating high-energy carriers such as the National Trust-Computing Industrial Park and International Pharmaceutical Innovation Park.

BETDA's industrial finance system continues to improve, promoting bank credit authorization of trillions and improving risk compensation mechanisms for technology-oriented SME loans. During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, a 20 billion yuan government-guided fund was established, and AIC funds exceeding 30 billion yuan were established with five major banks, leveraging over 200 billion yuan in social capital, with district enterprises receiving average annual investments exceeding 10 billion yuan.

During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, cumulative actual foreign investment utilization is expected to exceed 4 billion USD, foreign trade totals will exceed one trillion yuan, technology import-export contract amounts will grow annually by over 60%, and over 100 foreign R&D centers will be established.

Wang Lei also introduced that the nation's first comprehensive bonded zone themed on new productive forces is expected to commence sealed operations in September. In previous interviews, it was learned that as of mid-August, Yizhuang Comprehensive Bonded Zone has 80 intended enterprises, with 30 confirmed signed projects after sealed acceptance, covering automotive SKD assembly exports, semiconductor product testing and assembly, bonded processing, bonded maintenance, innovative drug formulation bonded R&D, bonded logistics, supply chain management, consumer goods cross-border e-commerce, and other service areas.

**Over 20,000 Various Affordable Housing Units Constructed**

"BETDA is a young city and a city for young people. We always regard talent as the primary resource supporting regional high-quality development," Wang Lei said. BETDA has nearly 400,000 talents of various types, maintaining over 8% annual growth, with nearly 70% being young talents under 45 years old. The talent contribution rate reaches 69%, 11 percentage points higher than the city average.

BETDA has established a 1 billion yuan technology talent development special fund and a 200 million yuan first-phase talent entrepreneurship investment fund, established tiered key employer directories, constructed a youth talent housing support system, and cumulatively raised and constructed over 20,000 various affordable housing units.

"We hope to build Beijing Yizhuang into the first station for youth entrepreneurship in the new era, providing a more friendly environment for young talents' office space, accommodation, R&D, operations, and investment and financing through resource aggregation, cost reduction, and service optimization."

In improving educational resources, quality educational resources such as High School Affiliated to Renmin University, School Eleven, and Beijing No. 2 High School have successively settled in BETDA, and construction of the new Children's Hospital campus has begun. Over 16,000 basic education positions have been added cumulatively, reaching a total of 28,000.

Meanwhile, BETDA focuses on gaming and e-sports industry function upgrades and ecological improvement, optimizing Beijing Smart E-sports Event Center functions, building a network gaming new technology application center, and completing the nation's most advanced and Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region's only digital professional e-sports venue. Over 100 e-sports events are held annually, making it the world's first super dual home venue simultaneously operating KPL+LPL, with plans to build E-Sports Park e-sports vitality street.

In October this year, BETDA will also host the GT World Challenge, New Energy Vehicle Competition, and Intelligent Connected Vehicle Competition.
