On February 7th, Unit 4 of the Phase II project of the Dazhou Gas Power Station, which was constructed under an EPC contract by Southwest Electric Power Design Institute Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China Energy Engineering Corporation, successfully completed a 168-hour full-load trial operation. This milestone signifies the full completion and official commencement of commercial operations for the entire project.

The project is located in the High-tech Zone of Dazhou City, Sichuan Province. The Phase II construction added two new 700-megawatt class H-type gas turbine units. These units operate in conjunction with the two 350-megawatt F-class units from Phase I, bringing the total installed capacity to 2,100 megawatts. This establishes the facility as the largest natural gas-fired power generation base in Sichuan Province.

The Phase II project utilizes globally leading H-class gas turbine technology, achieving a combined cycle efficiency of 63.72%, which sets a new benchmark for energy efficiency among similar units in China. Unit 3 of the project had already commenced operations on August 18, 2025.

Following the full operational commencement of the project, it is estimated that carbon dioxide emissions will be reduced by approximately 1 million tons annually. This development will help increase the proportion of clean energy in the Sichuan power grid and serves as a model for building an integrated "generation-grid-load-storage" new-type power system for the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle.
