Shares of Trip.com Group (09961) fell more than 3% this morning, reversing course after the stock closed nearly 4% higher yesterday on a lower open. As of writing, the shares were down 3.09% at HK$313.20, with turnover reaching HK$504 million.

In terms of market news, Trip.com Group recently released its unaudited financial results for the second quarter and the first half of 2026, revealing a mixed set of figures. Due to a one-off antitrust penalty of RMB 5.2 billion, the company posted a net loss attributable to shareholders of RMB 2.458 billion in Q2, which dragged first-half net profit down 99.55% year-on-year to just RMB 41 million.

On the revenue side, Q2 net revenue reached RMB 15.663 billion, with international platform revenue surging more than 50% year-on-year. For the first half, total revenue stood at RMB 31.871 billion, up 11.15% year-on-year.

Huatai Securities believes that following the penalty, the company has actively adjusted its business operations. While domestic business remains volatile during the transition period, international business growth and improved profitability provide support.
