Hong Kong – Sino Biopharmaceutical Limited (SBP Group) announced that its subsidiary, Beijing Tide Pharmaceutical, has obtained marketing approval from China’s National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) for the Second-Generation Flurbiprofen Patch (trade name: 澤普思®), classified as a national Category 5.1 innovative drug.

The new patch is cleared for analgesic and anti-inflammatory treatment across multiple musculoskeletal indications, including osteoarthritis, shoulder periarthritis, tendinitis, tenosynovitis, peritendinitis, lateral epicondylitis, muscle pain, and trauma-related swelling and pain. The NMPA has also granted a four-year data-protection period, bolstering the product’s competitive moat and reinforcing SBP Group’s market leadership in topical analgesics.

China’s chronic-pain population exceeds 200.00 million, with rising prevalence among younger demographics due to sports injuries and sedentary lifestyles. Topical patches are gaining traction for localized delivery and reduced gastrointestinal side effects versus oral non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.

Product enhancements position 澤普思® as an upgrade to first-generation flurbiprofen cataplasms: 1. Ultra-thin, lightweight matrix reduces thickness by 56% and weight by 75%, remaining nearly invisible under clothing. 2. Proprietary bio-inspired adhesive maintains secure attachment in dry, moist, and sweaty conditions, with no edge lifting observed during simulated high-intensity exercise. 3. Hot-melt pressure-sensitive adhesive technology delivers a 13-fold higher drug permeation rate than traditional cataplasms, enabling faster pain relief.

The approval extends SBP Group’s transdermal franchise, which already comprises: • Flurbiprofen cataplasms (得百安®, 2010) – leading brand in topical analgesics. • Lidocaine cataplasms (得百寧®, 2018) – external therapy for post-herpetic neuralgia. • Rivastigmine transdermal patch (蘇樂達®, 2024) – Alzheimer’s disease. • Rotigotine transdermal patch (羅菲定®, 2025) – Parkinson’s disease. • Tulobuterol patch (德瑞妥®, 2025) – respiratory disease management.

With the addition of 澤普思®, SBP Group now offers a multi-therapeutic transdermal portfolio spanning pain, central nervous system, respiratory, and metabolic disorders, supported by a modern transdermal technology platform.

The Board, chaired by Theresa Y Y Tse, approved the voluntary disclosure on 6 August 2026.
