As autumn winds arrive and rice paddies fill with fragrance, nearly 50,000 mu of mid-season rice in Jiaocheng District, Ningde City, Fujian Province has entered its harvest season.

In recent years, the local area has promoted small-scale agricultural machinery for field harvesting tailored to local conditions, equipped with intelligent grain drying equipment, continuously improving autumn grain production efficiency and helping farmers reduce costs and increase income.

In the contiguous rice paddies, grains are plump, and gentle breezes make the rice ears sway.

Small harvesters shuttle back and forth across the fields, harvesting rice while automatically completing threshing and bagging.

Jiaocheng District in Ningde City has more mountains than flat land, with over 60% of arable land being terraced fields in mountain valleys.

The plots are scattered and slopes are steep, making it difficult for large machinery to enter, and in the past, work relied mainly on manual labor.

Over the past two years, the local area has introduced small harvesters suitable for mountainous operations, enabling mechanized harvesting of scattered plots.

After harvesting, rice must be promptly dehydrated to reduce losses from mold and sprouting.

To minimize the impact of weather on rice drying, the local area has introduced small grain drying equipment that can precisely adjust drying temperature and humidity based on rice conditions, allowing rice to dehydrate evenly.

A single unit can dry approximately 5 tons of rice per day.

Additionally, to address issues such as scattered grain farmers in mountainous areas and labor shortages during peak farming seasons, Jiaocheng District has innovatively launched a "farming nanny station" mechanism, integrating agricultural machinery and technical services to provide farmers with full-process services from planting to harvest.

During the current harvest season, the local area relies on "farming nanny stations" across 7 townships to coordinate and dispatch over 40 harvesters of various types, conducting operations in different areas according to local harvesting progress.

After grain is harvested, transfer and drying services are connected, providing farmers with one-stop mechanized management to ensure grain is stored in a timely manner.

The harvesting of 49,000 mu of mid-season rice in Jiaocheng District is expected to continue until late October.
