Li Yunfei, General Manager of BYD Company Limited's Brand and Public Relations Department, posted a video on Weibo today, issuing an appeal to "BYD fans" to avoid getting caught up in pointless online disputes.

Li Yunfei stated that BYD Company Limited and "Wing Chun" martial arts share common values: emphasizing defense and not initiating attacks. BYD also focuses on its own development and never actively targets competitors. "The Chinese automotive market is vast, and the global automotive market is even larger, with room for a hundred flowers to bloom. Healthy competition can drive industry progress, while malicious disparagement will harm the industry ecosystem."

At this year's shareholders' meeting, BYD Chairman Wang Chuanfu also emphasized that not attacking competitors is BYD's principle. Healthy competition can promote industry progress, while malicious disparagement will only harm the entire industry ecosystem.

Li Yunfei issued an appeal to all "BYD fans": "If you truly love BYD Company Limited and appreciate our products and technology, then let us work together as catalysts for the upward development of Chinese brands. We should avoid getting caught up in pointless online disputes while also protecting yourselves. The Chinese automotive market is vast, and the global automotive market is even larger, with room for a hundred flowers to bloom and a hundred ships to set sail."

According to previous reports, Li Yunfei has mentioned topics related to "attacking competitors" multiple times and expressed opposition to such behavior. In June this year, he stated that some companies might feel uncomfortable holding press conferences without attacking others, and this type of traffic will backfire. "Some in the automotive industry don't use Sun Tzu's Art of War, but rather employ underhanded tactics. Some people are both bad and stupid. Companies that are genuinely committed to technology and brand building deeply despise these practices."

In March this year, Li Yunfei stated at the China EV100 Forum that companies should compete on technology and products, rather than engaging in various forms of attacks or speaking with sarcasm and passive-aggression. He expressed resistance and opposition to such behavior.
