International agency SNE Research released its first-half 2026 global lithium battery industry statistics, with CATL securing the top spot in both the power battery and energy storage battery segments.

In the power battery sector, CATL has maintained its global number-one position for nine consecutive years. Core data shows that CATL accounted for 39.9% of the total global power battery installations in the first half of the year, meaning that for every 10 new energy vehicles worldwide, 4 are equipped with CATL batteries.

The energy storage track also performed strongly, with CATL capturing a 27.1% global market share in energy storage battery shipments, firmly holding the industry's top spot. This achievement marks a double victory for CATL in both the vehicle power battery and energy storage fields.

The ability to sustain nearly 40% market share in power batteries is largely due to CATL's extensive coverage. The company has established stable supply partnerships with the vast majority of mainstream automakers, both domestically and internationally. Its product portfolio includes various solutions, such as lithium iron phosphate and ternary lithium batteries, catering to budget-friendly commuter cars, high-performance electric vehicles, and long-distance family SUVs, meeting the needs of different automakers and vehicle price ranges.

The energy storage business is growing at an even faster pace. In recent years, demand for energy storage systems paired with global wind and solar power has surged, with orders for overseas residential storage and large-scale power station storage continuing to expand. CATL's energy storage products are tailored for large grid-scale power stations, commercial and industrial storage equipment, and home storage batteries. The number of domestic and international projects has steadily increased, with a 27.1% shipment share proving that the brand's recognition in the energy storage market is equally formidable.

Looking ahead, industry demand is expected to keep rising, driven by the increasing penetration of new energy vehicles and the expansion of energy storage infrastructure. Both tracks still have significant growth potential. CATL continues to develop next-generation battery products with high safety, long range, and low costs, aiming to solidify its current global market advantages.
