JB Hunt Transport Services' stock surged 5.87% in after-hours trading following the release of its second-quarter financial results, which significantly exceeded analyst expectations.

The logistics company reported Q2 earnings per share of $1.91, a 45% increase year-over-year and beating the FactSet consensus estimate of $1.75. Revenue rose 19% to $3.5 billion, surpassing the $3.24 billion market estimate. The performance was driven by broad-based growth across key business segments, with intermodal revenue jumping 22% to $1.75 billion on a 10% volume increase, and integrated capacity solutions revenue surging 49%.

CEO Shelley Simpson cited operational excellence and cost discipline, highlighting investments in people, technology, and capacity. The company's results reflect recovering freight demand and improved productivity, with dedicated contract services and truckload segments also posting revenue gains of 9% and 35%, respectively.
