On August 20, iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) rose 3.22% in pre-market trading, trading at $40.16/share, with turnover of $8.62 million.

The move comes as Bitcoin spot ETFs recorded a sharp reversal in fund flows. On August 19, Bitcoin ETFs posted a single-day net inflow of $297.56 million, with BlackRock's IBIT leading at $160.23 million, followed by Fidelity's FBTC at $111.9 million. Total industry net inflows reached $2.12 billion, pushing aggregate ETF assets to $77.41 billion. Meanwhile, crypto-concept options activity surged on August 20, with IBIT options volume reaching 3.6 times its daily average.

Institutional positioning further supports the bullish tone. Second-quarter 13F filings reveal that institutional Bitcoin ETF holdings rose 7.5% to approximately 535,723 BTC despite a 14.2% price decline in the period. Approximately 1,500 institutions now hold IBIT, with banks and quantitative funds identified as core buyers during the drawdown.

The iShares Bitcoin Trust seeks to reflect generally the performance of the price of bitcoin.
