Shares of the Roundhill Memory ETF (DRAM) surged 5.08% in pre-market trading on Monday, extending a rally as investors reacted to a wave of positive developments across the global memory chip sector.

The primary catalyst driving the move was Samsung Electronics' announcement of a landmark partnership with Broadcom. Under the deal, estimated to be worth $200 billion, Samsung will provide High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) solutions for Broadcom's AI accelerators and leverage its advanced 2-nanometer process technology for wireless communication products. This collaboration lifted sentiment across the memory sector, driving gains in the ETF's largest holdings.

Broader industry momentum also supported the ETF's advance. Over the weekend, SK Group and Samsung Electronics reached chip partnership agreements valued at approximately $950 billion with major US technology companies. SK Group will supply $750 billion worth of chips to firms including NVIDIA, while Anthropic signed supply agreements with both Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix. Additionally, traders are positioning ahead of key earnings reports from Samsung and SK Hynix, with bulls hoping strong preliminary results will serve as catalysts to reverse recent declines in memory stocks.
