New Business Registrations in China's Humanoid Robot Sector Surge 9.5% in First Half of Year

In the first six months of the year, the number of new enterprises established in China's humanoid robot sector reached 116,000, marking a 9.5% increase year-on-year. This data was released on August 8 by the State Administration for Market Regulation, highlighting the continued momentum in new industries and emerging business tracks.

The administration reported that the total number of new businesses registered in the "eight major emerging industries and nine future industries" nationwide stood at 561,000 in the first half, maintaining a stable growth trajectory. Some cutting-edge fields are experiencing explosive expansion. For instance, the generative artificial intelligence sector saw 55,000 new enterprise registrations, a 28.0% year-on-year increase. The humanoid robot field is rapidly forming a new economic growth point.

Service sector business entities are showing notable highlights. In the first half, 3.957 million new service enterprises were registered, keeping pace with the same period last year. New types of consumer formats are thriving, with the "silver economy" industry welcoming 31,000 new related enterprises, up 16.0% year-on-year. The cultural tourism industry added 1.475 million new enterprises, maintaining a fast growth momentum. The number of "famous, special, excellent, and new" individual businesses reached 184,000.

High-tech services are accelerating their expansion. The information transmission and software technology services sector registered 322,000 new enterprises, a 3.3% increase year-on-year. The scientific and technological achievement transformation services sector saw 459,000 new enterprises, up 6.8%.

The transformation and upgrade of manufacturing enterprises are picking up pace. In the first half, the high-end equipment manufacturing sector registered 28,000 new enterprises, a 2.5% year-on-year increase. Within this, intelligent equipment manufacturing grew by 6.4%, and urban rail equipment manufacturing expanded by 4.4%. High-tech manufacturing is showing strong growth. As of the end of June, the total number of high-tech manufacturing enterprises reached 330,000, with 15,000 new registrations in the first half alone. Notably, the spacecraft and launch vehicle manufacturing sector saw a 185.7% year-on-year increase in new enterprises, the optical fiber and cable manufacturing sector grew by 129.4%, and the integrated circuit manufacturing sector rose by 24.2%.

Enterprises in overcapacity industries are being orderly phased out. In the first half, the number of business cancellations related to the new energy vehicle, photovoltaic, and lithium battery industries totaled 7,632, 5,089, and 155 respectively, representing year-on-year increases of 4.6%, 8.3%, and 12.3%.
