GIGADEVICE (03986) shares surged nearly 5% in early trading on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, before settling at a gain of 2.38%, trading at HK$447 with a turnover of HK$618 million.

This move comes after the company announced a series of significant shareholder actions. Chairman Zhu Yiming has proposed a share buyback program worth between RMB 1 billion and RMB 2 billion, with the purchased shares to be cancelled to reduce the company's registered capital. The move is intended to boost investor confidence and stabilize the company's value.

In a separate commitment, Mr. Zhu has voluntarily pledged not to sell any of his shares in GIGADEVICE for a period of 12 months from July 29, 2026. Furthermore, he has also announced a plan to increase his stake in the company, purchasing a minimum of RMB 1 billion worth of shares. This planned share purchase will be executed through on-market or block trades using his own or borrowed funds, with the execution period running from December 13, 2026, to July 29, 2027.

The company stated that the buyback proposal and the chairman's personal commitments are designed to strengthen shareholder returns and demonstrate confidence in the company's future growth.
