Macau Legend Development Limited (01680) has announced that Ernst & Young (EY) will resign as its auditor effective 1 December 2025, following a disagreement regarding the audit fee for the financial year ending 31 December 2025. The Board, upon reviewing various fee proposals, determined that selecting a more competitive option aligns better with the Group’s cost-control objectives. EY confirmed there were no other matters connected with its resignation, aside from the differing views on audit charges and the previously noted multiple uncertainties relating to going concern in the Group’s 2024 annual and 2025 interim financial statements.
Baker Tilly Hong Kong Limited has been appointed as the new auditor effective 1 December 2025, continuing until the conclusion of the next annual general meeting. According to the announcement, the Board and the Audit Committee consider Baker Tilly’s independent approach, industry expertise, and proposed fees suitable for the Group’s needs, and highlighted that the change of auditor is not expected to affect the annual audit for the financial year ending 31 December 2025.
