China Southern Airlines (01055) announced its operational figures for January 2026. The group's passenger capacity, measured in available seat kilometers, decreased by 1.10% compared to the same period last year. Domestic capacity fell by 5.42%, while regional and international routes saw increases of 0.12% and 10.45%, respectively.

Passenger traffic, measured in revenue passenger kilometers, declined by 2.86% year-on-year. Domestic traffic dropped by 6.91%, whereas regional and international traffic rose by 1.12% and 7.96%, respectively. The passenger load factor stood at 83.26%, down 1.51 percentage points from the previous year. Domestic and international load factors decreased by 1.34 and 1.90 percentage points, respectively, while the regional load factor increased by 0.77 percentage points.

In cargo operations, capacity measured in available cargo tonne kilometers decreased by 0.03% in January. However, cargo and mail traffic, measured in revenue cargo tonne kilometers, increased by 7.65% year-on-year. The cargo load factor reached 50.39%, up 3.59 percentage points from the same period last year.

The group did not add any major routes in January 2026. It also retired one A321 aircraft during the month. As of the end of January 2026, the group operated a total fleet of 971 transport aircraft.
