Macro Pressures Weigh on Bitcoin as Yields Climb, OEXN Points to Key Levels Ahead

On September 11, Bitcoin slipped below the $77,000 mark following the release of U.S. producer price data, with risk assets like equities also moving lower in tandem.

OEXN noted that inflation running hotter than anticipated has pushed long-term bond yields upward, prompting markets to factor in tighter financial conditions, which in turn has placed short-term pressure on digital assets. The 30-year Treasury yield climbed to multi-year highs, and the odds of a rate hike ahead of the next policy meeting have also inched up.

OEXN believes Bitcoin is no longer solely driven by on-chain supply and demand dynamics; it is now showing a strong correlation with intraday shifts in the U.S. dollar, yield movements, and overall risk appetite. The recent price decline does not automatically signal a shift in the longer-term trend, but the wider price swings indicate that leveraged positions are highly sensitive to macroeconomic surprises. Whether trading volumes, derivatives funding rates, and spot buying activity can stabilize will be key in determining if the selling pressure continues to broaden.

Upcoming consumer price data is expected to offer a fresh window for market validation. OEXN suggests that if yields remain elevated, Bitcoin could keep testing support levels; however, should macro headwinds ease, capital inflows may find the conditions necessary to reassess risk exposure.
