CUTIA-B (02487) has announced that its biologic license application (BLA) for CU-20101, an injectable botulinum toxin type A formulation, has been formally accepted for review by China's National Medical Products Administration (NMPA). The proposed indication for this product is the improvement of moderate to severe glabellar lines, commonly known as frown lines.

Notably, the manufacturing process for CU-20101 does not utilize animal-derived components or human serum albumin. This strategic design eliminates the potential risk of transmissible spongiform encephalopathy (TSE) infection as well as related hypersensitivity reactions, positioning the product with a projected favorable safety profile.

This advancement is expected to further enrich the company's dermatology product portfolio, creating valuable synergies with its existing offerings. Given the broad and substantial demand within the skin treatment market, the expansion of this diversified product lineup is anticipated to enable CUTIA-B to capture a larger market share in the sector.
