On December 15, Haichang Ocean Park Holdings Limited announced that the Beijing Haichang Ocean Park project has fully entered the construction phase, with foundation work and other operations progressing simultaneously. Preparations for operations are also underway.

The announcement revealed that multiple foundation construction equipment is already on-site, with subsequent work involving the installation of China's thickest acrylic viewing windows, large-scale water leak-proofing systems, and specialized marine system integrations. Meanwhile, preliminary operational preparations, including performance planning and exhibition design, are being advanced.

Located in the northern industrial belt of Beijing's sub-center cultural tourism zone, the park is adjacent to Universal Beijing Resort and directly connected to Gaoloujin Station on Metro Line 7, offering "direct park access from the subway." The project covers a total construction area of approximately 160,000 square meters, featuring marine-themed venues, a themed hotel, and supporting facilities, with operations expected to begin in 2027.

Developed in partnership with Beijing Tongzhou Urban Construction & Operation Group, Haichang Ocean Park is responsible for brand licensing, product planning, and biological resource investment, and will oversee full operations post-completion.

The project has been designated as a key municipal-level project in Beijing and is included in the sub-center's core cultural tourism plans. As the first international marine-themed cultural tourism project in the area, it will receive policy and resource support during construction and operation.

Haichang Ocean Park stated that this will be Beijing's first large-scale indoor marine theme park built since 2000, filling a gap in high-end marine tourism. Once completed, it is expected to complement Universal Beijing Resort in content and visitor flow, becoming a major new destination in the sub-center.

The sub-center's cultural tourism zone is accelerating high-profile projects, including Mars Habitat Sci-Fi City, Ferrari World Entertainment Complex, "Fly to Sagittarius" Camp, and digital tourism platforms, with total planned investments nearing 10 billion yuan.

Among these, Ferrari World is set to be Asia's first Ferrari-themed entertainment complex, featuring the world's fastest Rossa Formula roller coaster, an e-sports park, Ferrari museum, and club, targeting 1.8 million annual visitors. Mars Habitat Sci-Fi City, with a planned investment of 5 billion yuan, is expected to begin construction early next year and open by late 2028.
