Indonesia's central bank announced on Wednesday that it is intensifying its efforts to stabilize the rupiah, which is hovering near historic lows, as global uncertainty intensifies, aiming to curb inflation and support economic growth.

Erwin Hutapea, Executive Director of Monetary and Securities Management at the central bank, stated in a statement that the bank is further optimizing its monetary policy mix to defend the rupiah, with operating tools that include not only the policy rate but also various other monetary instruments.

He added that the central bank will continue to utilize a range of measures to stabilize the exchange rate and attract foreign capital inflows, including foreign exchange market intervention and the optimization of monetary instruments such as rupiah securities.
