On August 6, the Smart City Innovation Hub officially launched in the Xiong'an New Area. Officials from Hebei Province and the Xiong'an New Area, along with China Mobile General Manager Chen Yangfan and Deputy General Manager Chen Huaida, attended the unveiling ceremony.

This hub is a group-level exhibition center established by China Mobile in Xiong'an, showcasing smart city technological achievements. It is divided into three thematic zones: "City of Innovation," "City of Charm," and "City of the Future." In the "City of Innovation" zone, the history of telecommunications development from 1G to 6G is highlighted, centered on the original mission of "red communications." The "City of Charm" zone presents China Mobile's full-stack innovations in areas like intelligent computing, the low-altitude economy, and smart cities. It can remotely demonstrate the Xiong'an Low-Altitude Public Service Platform, allowing one-button drone dispatch and customized flight plan displays. The "City of the Future" zone, supported by the AI assistant "Lingxi," paints a picture of future urban life.

As a key window for China Mobile to serve the construction of the Xiong'an New Area, the hub features tangible, interactive digital intelligence achievements that outline a blueprint for future cities. This is backed by China Mobile's deep-rooted presence in Xiong'an, systematic deployment of new infrastructure, and solid efforts to advance various smart applications. In the construction of a new-generation communication network, China Mobile has aligned its communication network development with the New Area's growth. Currently, 3,080 5G base stations have been built, ensuring continuous network coverage in key areas like the start-up zone and Rongdong area. Additionally, the country's only E-band high-capacity microwave communication pilot has been successfully implemented in Xiong'an.

Through the verification of 5G-A integrated sensing and communication technology, communication towers now also function as "radar stations," providing technical support for urban low-altitude monitoring. This technology has been deeply applied in ecological protection, such as in the Baiyangdian Ecological Reserve, where it is used for bird protection and emergency scenario testing. It can precisely sense and visually monitor the trajectories, speeds, and coordinates of low-altitude drones, birds, and vessels. Combined with AI large models, the system can predict trajectories and behaviors, issuing timely warnings before route deviations or collisions, thereby bolstering safety for large-scale, high-frequency routine patrols of drones over Baiyangdian.

In the low-altitude economy sector, China Mobile has deployed 28 drone systems, opened 22 routine routes, and launched 44 AI algorithms and 60 application scenarios. Furthermore, in collaboration with China Xiongan Group, it has established the Xiong'an Low-Altitude Economy Industry Development Co., Ltd., building a "1 center + 3 platforms + N scenarios" management system. For example, in road inspection, previously, underground pipeline construction inspections required manual line-by-line checks, taking at least two days for full coverage of a construction area, with high risks of missing hidden pipes or dynamic hazards. Now, drones equipped with high-definition cameras and AI recognition algorithms can fly along preset routes, completing a full scan of the same construction area in just 15 minutes, automatically issuing alerts and work orders, significantly improving efficiency.

In the field of digital governance and public services, China Mobile has partnered with China Xiongan Group to establish the Hebei Provincial Key Laboratory for Smart City Full-Domain IoT Perception and Governance. They have developed domestic chips and smart manhole cover controllers, making previously "invisible" underground spaces visible and controllable. The unified IoT open platform built by China Mobile for the Xiong'an New Area has connected over 1 million city-wide sensing terminals, including water, gas, and heat meters, as well as pipeline monitoring equipment, enabling unified data management and cloud sharing. The system uses AI algorithms to monitor the water usage of elderly individuals living alone. If no water is used for over 4 hours, an alert is generated; over 8 hours triggers an abnormal event, automatically dispatching a task to the operations center for community staff to check in, using digital technology to strengthen the safety net for social welfare.

The launch of the Smart City Innovation Hub marks another significant step by China Mobile in implementing the national regional coordination strategy and supporting the development of the Xiong'an New Area. Moving forward, China Mobile will continue to enhance its integrated computing and network digital infrastructure, delve into innovation tracks like the low-altitude economy, full-domain IoT, and artificial intelligence, and consistently output replicable and scalable smart city construction models. This will leverage digital intelligence technology to help build Xiong'an into a high-standard, high-quality innovation hub for the new era.
