Hyundai and Kia Achieve Record July Sales in the US with Hybrid Vehicle Growth Surpassing 50%

Hyundai Motor and Kia recorded their highest-ever sales figures in the US market for July. The sales of hybrid electric vehicles surged more than 50% compared to the same period last year.

Hyundai Motor and Kia reported that the two companies sold a total of 165,284 vehicles in the US last month, a 5% increase from the same period last year. Specifically, Hyundai Motor sold 89,427 units, up 3.7% year-on-year, while Kia sold 75,857 units, marking a 6.7% increase. Both automakers set new records for July sales.

Hyundai Motor's premium brand Genesis sold 6,947 vehicles, up 3.9% from the previous year. The sales growth for Hyundai Motor and Kia in the US market was primarily driven by hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) models. Combined sales of hybrid models from the two brands reached 43,727 units, a 52.2% increase year-on-year. Among them, Hyundai Motor sold 22,733 hybrid vehicles, up 35%, while Kia sold 20,994 hybrid units, representing a 76.6% jump.
