Hong Kong Stock Market Alert: E-House Shares Surge Over 46% Afternoon Session as Debt Restructuring Nears Completion and Company Rolls Out AI-Centric Real Estate Strategy

Shares of E-House (China) Enterprise Holdings Limited (02048) jumped more than 46% during the afternoon trading session on Tuesday, extending a sharp rally. As of the time of reporting, the stock was up 34.67%, trading at HK$0.101, with a turnover of approximately HK$13.157 million.

According to intelligence from Zhitong Finance, the surge comes as the company edges closer to resolving its debt restructuring. In a meeting of the Hong Kong and Cayman Islands schemes held on August 27, a total of 357 scheme creditors, representing claims of roughly US$648 million, voted in favor of the restructuring plan. Notably, an overwhelming 97.8% of creditors by value approved the proposal, with both schemes successfully meeting the required voting thresholds.

The sanction hearings for the Hong Kong scheme and the Cayman Islands scheme are scheduled for September 11, 2026, and October 9, 2026, respectively.

In a separate development, E-House has officially unveiled its long-term strategic transformation direction. The company has designated "AI + Real Estate" as its core strategic focus, introducing a fresh brand identity called "CRIC - Deep Intelligence Link." With this pivot, the company aims to seize emerging opportunities in the artificial intelligence era, executing a strategic overhaul to establish itself as the premier AI infrastructure and application service provider in China's real estate sector.
