As the harvest season arrives, Yongde County has organized professional agricultural technicians to go deep into the fields and comprehensively carry out on-site yield measurement of new corn varieties, precisely grasping corn growth conditions, verifying the planting results of new varieties, and scientifically calculating grain output, using scientific measured data to test the effectiveness of promoting fine varieties and good methods, and solidly building a firm foundation for food security.
In the demonstration field of new corn varieties in Minglang Village, Dedang Town, contiguous corn stalks stand tall and straight with plump kernels, presenting a magnificent scene of bumper harvest.
At the yield measurement site, agricultural technicians strictly followed standardized crop yield measurement procedures, divided labor and cooperated, and carried out various tasks methodically. They precisely selected measurement plots, carefully measured planting areas, counted effective ears row by row and plant by plant, randomly sampled representative ears for drying and threshing, professionally measured grain moisture content, and combined field growth conditions, seed-setting rates, pest and disease occurrence data to scientifically calculate per-mu yield and estimate total output, comprehensively and precisely verifying the adaptability, stress resistance, and high-yield potential of new corn varieties, ensuring that yield measurement data is authentic, accurate, and reliable, and providing scientific data support for subsequent variety promotion, technical optimization, and grain production planning.
Taking the yield measurement and observation as an opportunity, agricultural technology outreach empowerment actions were simultaneously carried out, organizing surrounding planting farmers to observe the entire yield measurement process on site and intuitively experience the excellent characteristics of new corn varieties.
Staff provided on-site detailed introductions of the overall situation of the new corn variety project construction, variety introduction, demonstration planting, and industrial development in Minglang Village, and around key links in agricultural production, carried out comprehensive and refined agricultural technology training and policy presentations. The training content closely matched farmers' actual planting needs, with broad coverage and strong practicality, focusing on core planting technologies such as new corn variety cultivation, scientific crop planting, and safe production of agricultural product quality, while also conducting specialized training for green agricultural development, carefully explaining scientific recycling and disposal methods for pesticide packaging waste and waste plastic film, and popularizing knowledge on crop seed quality identification. In addition, staff also explained agricultural-related laws and regulations such as the Agriculture Law of the People's Republic of China and the Rural Revitalization Promotion Law of the People's Republic of China to the public, further enhancing farmers' scientific planting levels, green production awareness, and ability to know, abide by, and use the law, truly delivering high-quality agricultural technology services and beneficial agricultural policies to the fields and into farmers' hands.

Today I learned a lot of practical planting techniques on site, and the gains were tremendous.
