VICOM CEO Sim Wing Yew to Retire; Deputy CEO Chung Tying Chun Named Successor Effective Jan. 1, 2027

VICOM Ltd (V01) announced on Jun, 24 2026 that Deputy Chief Executive Officer Chung Tying Chun will assume the role of Chief Executive Officer on Jan, 01 2027. He will succeed current CEO Sim Wing Yew, who will retire on Dec, 31 2026 after 14 years in the position.

Sim will also step down as Director and as a member of both the Sustainability Committee and Technology Committee on Dec, 31 2026. Chung will take over these additional responsibilities upon his promotion, with a transition period planned to ensure operational continuity.

Chung, appointed Deputy CEO on May, 01 2026, joined VICOM in 2013 and has held leadership roles across the group’s vehicle inspection and non-vehicle testing operations. As CEO of subsidiary Setsco Services Pte Ltd, he expanded advanced testing capacity and built capabilities in medical device testing, consumer electronics testing and sustainability-related certification. He holds a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering (Honours) from University College London.

To prepare for his new responsibilities, Chung will relinquish his post as CEO of Setsco on Jul, 01 2026. An existing senior member of the Setsco management team with extensive testing, inspection and certification (TIC) experience will become Acting CEO of the subsidiary from the same date.

VICOM is a Singapore-based provider of inspection and technical testing services, offering a broad range of vehicle and non-vehicle testing solutions in mechanical, biochemical, civil engineering and non-destructive testing fields.
