GameStop (GME.US) shares fell more than 5% in pre-market trading on Wednesday, reaching $21.93. The decline followed the company's third-quarter earnings report, which showed total revenue of $821 million, down approximately 4.5% year-over-year and below analysts' expectations of $987 million. Earnings per share came in at $0.13, also missing the projected $0.18.
During the quarter, hardware and accessories revenue dropped nearly 12% to $367 million, while software revenue declined over 27% to $198 million. However, collectibles revenue saw significant growth, rising nearly 50% year-over-year to $256 million.
