Lenovo Group has been actively expanding in the enterprise storage sector. Public records show that Lenovo secured a key high-performance storage project from Xiaomi Group with a bid of approximately 148 million yuan, which is expected to provide core equipment and technical support for Xiaomi's data center expansion and cloud service upgrades. Concurrently, Lenovo's acquisition of high-end storage provider Infinidat is on track to complete by the end of this month, marking a strategic expansion in its global infrastructure business.

Recently, Beijing Xiaomi Mobile Software Co., Ltd. announced the winning bid for its "High-Performance Storage Server Procurement Project," with Lenovo (Beijing) Information Technology Co., Ltd. emerging as the top candidate with a 148 million yuan bid. This highlights Lenovo's competitive edge in the enterprise storage market.

The win underscores Lenovo's accelerated deployment in high-performance storage servers. In January 2025, Lenovo announced its acquisition of Infinidat, a deal expected to finalize by year-end. Eric Herzog, Infinidat's Chief Marketing Officer, revealed that post-acquisition, Infinidat's team and core technologies will integrate into Lenovo's Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG), focusing on enhancing capabilities for sectors like finance and healthcare while delivering self-controlled solutions for government and enterprise needs.

As a "Leader" in Gartner's Magic Quadrant for Storage, Infinidat boasts key technologies such as 100% system availability, ultra-low latency of 35 microseconds, and single-rack capacity of 33PB. These will significantly bolster Lenovo's storage capabilities in critical industries like finance, healthcare, and government.

Lenovo has long dominated the AI server market, and the full acquisition of Infinidat will help it address gaps in high-end storage, enabling integrated "computing + storage + RAG data services" solutions. This technological synergy will strengthen Lenovo's competitiveness in AI infrastructure.

The global storage market is shifting from "capacity expansion" to "performance and efficiency," with AI driving deeper integration into storage technologies and fueling a new growth cycle. In September, J.P. Morgan significantly raised its global storage market forecast, increasing the Total Addressable Market (TAM) estimates for 2025–2026 by 6% to 24%. By 2027, the market is projected to reach nearly $300 billion, signaling explosive demand for high-performance storage and substantial growth opportunities.
